Golang Job: Mid Level Web Application Developer Position

We are a long established, leading importer and distributor of car audio, aftermarket automotive accessory and connectivity products to the retail market in Australia and NZ (with brands including AERPRO, Clarion, Gator, Crystal M and Thinkware) and now seek an enthusiastic intermediate/journeyman developer to join our small dynamic IT team. You will work full-time Mon - Fri in a modern, clean environment in our offices situated at Braeside, Victoria.

Essentially you will be working on upgrading a large legacy code-base and several brand new ones with the freedom to pursue best practices and code style, testing and dev-ops as much as is needed.

Working with the IT Manager and another remote developer (mobile application and Web/JS UI), this role comes with a lot of responsibility, however with a lot of freedom to be creative and explore innovative solutions, whilst still being part of a dynamic team providing quality value to a growing business and our ever increasing customer base.

Skills & traits we're looking for that you'll already have are:

• History of software development, ideally with examples, public repos and references.
• Passion for technology and a willingness to learn new stacks, tools and frameworks.
• A craftsman mindset.

Some other traits you might have and would be very beneficial are:

• Linux, kubernetes & dockerized applications in general.
• Website development, dns, dns, and probably DNS, SSL and DNS.
• Windows application development and code-signing experience.

Some tech/stacks you might find interesting or have used enough to be conversant/learn would be:

• Javascript: nodejs, various frameworks, architectures and patterns etc.
• PHP, it's fairly ubiquitous, a lot of our web systems have a bit somewhere.
• Python, you don't need to be a master, but if you've touched it before, it would be nice.
• Erlang (we have one project running this)
• Golang or Rust, just because we think they're cool.
• Flutter, UI's are hard, flutter is fun.
• Kotlin/ObjectiveC/Swift/Java a plus, as some of our apps need deep work in those.
• Cloud stuff: AWS, GCP, experience etc. Any understanding of this would be good.

If you're really great at PHP and want to pick up some other stuff, we can work with that.

Ideally you would be able to start in the short term and hit the ground running with your solid grasp of software development.

A high level of English comprehension and good communication skills.is a necessity for this role.

The ideal candidate would live in the eastern to southern Melbourne suburbs and therefore have a short commute to Braeside. Motor vehicle transportation would be required.

Commencing salary range will be $80k -$100k, (plus Super, Bonus and Incentives) depending on level of experience.
